How to Measure Doors for Blinds and Shades

Note: Always make sure to check for any compatibility issues between your door type and the selected shades, such as if your door opens inwards.

Step 1: Measure Width ①/②/③

Measure the width at three positions on the glass of each door. For the width, use the longest measurement and add 2 to 3 inches.

Step 2: Measure Height ④/⑤/⑥

Measure the height at three positions on the glass of each door. For the height, use the longest measurement and add 4 to 6 inches.

Order Width = The longest of the three measurements + 2"~3"

Order Height= The longest of the three measurements + 4"~6"

Step 1: Measure Width ①/②/③

Measure the width in 3 places. For width, use the shortest measurement to the nearest 1/8".

Step 2: Measure Height ④/⑤/⑥

Measure the height in 3 places. For height, use the longest measurement to the nearest 1/8".

Order Width = The shortest of the three measurements

Order Height = The longest of the three measurements

(Window depth ≥ 2.5")

Step 1: Measure Width ①

Measure width to be covered. We recommend 1½" - 3" overlap on each side of the door (3"-6" total) for optimum light control and privacy.

Step 2: Measure Height ②

Measure height to be covered (Including the top of valance to the shades fabric to the bottom rod).

To prevent the valance from obstructing your door, we recommend adding at least 4" to the frame's height for optimal light control and privacy.

Order Width = The area you wish to cover (Door width + 3"~6")

Order Height = The area you wish to cover (Door height + at least 4")

* When measuring the height of the door, ensure to include the door frame or molding, and the valance should be installed on a flat area above the door frame.

Shade 1 Order Width = Width A

Shade 2 Order Width = Width B

Shade 3 Order Width = Width C

Order Height = The longest dimension among the three height measurements A, B, and C.

(Window depth ≥ 2.5")

Shade 1 Order Width = The area you wish to cover (Width A + 3~6")

Shade 2 Order Width = Width B

Shade 3 Order Width = The area you wish to cover (Width C + 3~6")

Order Height A/B/C = The area you wish to cover (Window height + at least 6")

* When measuring the height of the door, ensure to include the door frame or molding, and the valance should be installed on a flat area above the door frame.
